SUMMIT
The Whistleblowers Summit brought together leading jurists, policymakers, whistleblowers, journalists, activists, and business figures for a compelling celebration of integrity and a renewed national push for accountability.
One of the Summit’s most significant takeaways was Justice and Constitutional Development Deputy Minister Andries Nel’s announcement during his keynote address that government will release the draft Whistleblower Bill before year-end, with the final legislation expected to be enacted in the course of next year.
AWARDS
Former Chief Justice Raymond Zondo set a resolute tone for the evening with his keynote address affirming the vital role of whistleblowers in safeguarding South Africa’s constitutional order, while expert panels explored the state of whistleblowing, corporate governance, investigative journalism, resilience, and the rule of law.
The Awards ceremony honoured individuals whose courage has protected the public interest at great personal cost, positioning Public Interest SA’s flagship event as the country’s premier platform for elevating civic bravery, strengthening institutions, and advancing a future where truth decisively counters impunity.
