Lebogang Ramafoko is the Executive Director of Oxfam South Africa, an independent affiliate of the global organisation dedicated to addressing the systemic causes of poverty and inequality. She is a vocal feminist thinker and strategist, recognised as a sought-after speaker, facilitator, and trainer with a deep passion for social justice, particularly in advancing the rights of young women and girls.
Lebogang’s activism is deeply informed by her lived experience as a Black woman who grew up in Apartheid South Africa. She was drawn into activism at an early age, and her personal journey, combined with her academic training, has equipped her to speak out boldly against injustice on both local and global platforms.
In 2011, Lebogang became the CEO of Soul City, where she led a transformative process in 2013, re-envisioning the organiation as a feminist social justice entity focused on empowering young women and girls. Her leadership continues to inspire and drive critical conversations around gender equality and social transformation.
Lebogang holds a Master’s in Public Administration from Harvard’s Kennedy School, a Postgraduate Diploma in Applied Ethics, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Wits University. Her commitment to advocacy and ethical leadership has cemented her position as a leading figure in the fight for social justice in South Africa and beyond.
